Post Modern Axis
polyesterpowdercoated has added a photo to the pool:
Another one from back in Noissy, this time straight down the central axis of the development. Nice bit of dirty concrete and a, ahem, 'classic' example of how post modernism raped the classical orders for token architectural gestures.

Power of Scotland
Novantae has added a photo to the pool:
Aberlady Bay is a bay in East Lothian, Scotland between Aberlady and Gullane. In 1952, Aberlady Bay became the UK's first Local Nature Reserve (LNR). The total area of the reserve is 582 hectares or 1,439 acres, though two thirds of this is sand, mudflats and salt marsh falling below the high tide mark. Aberlady Bay is part of the John Muir Way, a long distance footpath from Fisherrow (Musselburgh) to Dunglass. It is also the East Lothian Section of the transnational North Sea Trail, a path network connecting seven countries and 26 areas.
The reserve looks out west along the south side of the Forth Estuary and distant views include Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh with the Pentland Hills to its south, and a little more closely the chimneys of the Cockenzie Power Station. North across the Forth lies the coast of Fife.

Shocked at how little snow we have to support our snowmobile. Here is a macro of the shocks from the snowmobile that sits in our back yard still waiting for its turn.

Dennis Biederer Photography has added a photo to the pool:
Second try. This time I tried to create a clean atmosphere. It's pretty hard to make these "tats" .. I think I won't get far with this drop infusion :D It took so looooong :(
The result is kinda funny... This drop looks like an alien controlling a ball with his mind :D haha^^
I'm really curious how to create really great tats..so I'll keep trying!

Dennis

Guide me into the light
I will not disappoint you
You are still out of sight
Don´t seem to know your name yet
Your word has no weight
But I write you a poem
I am yours, you are mine
I will scream for you in front of you
When will you be with me?
Without you, I am alone
You are the shoot of our tree
The fulfillment of my dream
You are the one, who is carrying me inside
And when you are on your way
I count the days
I start a lament
Guide me into the light
I will not disappoint you

{123/366-2} The books you remember
jennifée has added a photo to the pool:
This image shows part of the cover of the book Skyggen over steinbenken - 'the shadow across the stone bench' - by Swedish author Maria Gripe. I read this book, and the rest of the series, as a kid, and it has stayed with me ever since.
I don't remember a lot of the story, but I remember the atmosphere. Some of the characters. The essence of certain lines.
One of the characters cannot speak, and communicates by writing everything down in little notebooks. She observes that her words are preserved for eternity, while everyone else's words fly out in the air and are lost after they've been spoken.
It made me reflect, at a very young age, on the nature of speech and writing, and the joys of writing things down.
I would like to read this book again now, fifteen or twenty years later, but I am scared to, because the words on those pages will not mean the same to me now as they did then.
