When the days grow long for you
and the tendrils of time climb up
to wrap you in its providence
I will warm your hands in mine
as I have always done
for since we were young
and the light in your eyes bright
our shadows merge into one
and the sands that lift you
also carry me
here, now
we know in silence
of the yesterdays
and dreams that came
and those that faded away
unspoken
and so let time be time
and light be light
it’s not what we can not know
but what we know
that makes this moment
our own
