This picture was taken at a small horse festival on the grasslands near Labrang in eastern Amdo province. Hundreds on nomad and local Tibetans arrived to the event on horseback and motorcycle. Amdo Tibetans are known for their horse riding skills, even though more and more nomads are trading in their horse for a motorcycle. Horse festivals are one of the most fascinating aspects of Tibetan culture.
