s0ulsurfing has added a photo to the pool:
The 'Small Blue' is the smallest resident butterfly in the UK, rare and localised apparently, only feeds on one plant (Kidney Vetch) and tends to like 'sheltered chalky grassland'. Saw this one up on the cliffs at freshwater Bay, not really what you would call sheltered, but it is chalky and i did see lots of the Kidney Vetch.
Taken with the 100mm macro on a warm afternoon where a sea mist diffused the light really well.
