ZZZzzzzzzzzzzz!

Pete foley has added a photo to the pool:

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzz!

Above, a herd of Zebra stop for a drink and a cooling bath, while keeping alert for a nearby Pride of Lions. Its fascinating to watch the interaction between prey and predator. How they refuse to move until a predator crosses an invisible boundary, marshaling their energy and resources, and taking every opportunity to eat and drink, trading off risk against wasted effort. And how the predators try to sneak past that same invisible line, the boundary that typically marks the difference between a full belly and a hungry night for them and their cubs. Nature is a beautiful, but harsh mistress. Below, a zebra sneaks into our backyard for a snack, a herd seeks shelter under a rather inadequate tree, and for my British friends, the inevitable "Zebra Crossing".
