I took this yesterday just as the sun was setting. Very unusual to find these types of shells on the beaches here in Maine...it's a first for me any way. This was a good sized shell, and still had something inside of it, so I left it there to hopefully be washed back into the sea. As I was trying to get a good angle on this by kneeling in the wet sand (already pretty cold), a wave snuck up on me and got my legs all wet...verrrry cold, but worth it!
