"Nothing is too good for ordinary people", Bethold Lubetkin, architect of the Spa Green Estate, revolutionary social housing in the London Borough of Islington started in 1946 and completed in 1949. The original plane tree as planted by Princess Margaret at the opening in 1949 can be seen in the distance.
