Panam City - An Archaeological Site of Bangladesh

Panam City was the center of the upper-middle class people of 19th century Sonargaon. Mainly Hindu cloth merchants lived here. When Mughal's conquered the Sonargaon in 1611, Panam City was linked with the main city area by three important bridges. Panam City still has these bridges. After the Indo-Pak war in 1965 and the Muslim-Hindu riot, Panam City reduced into a vacant community. It is now in ruins.
Due to the many threats to preservation (including flooding and vandalism), Sonargaon is placed in 2008 Watch List of the 100 Most Endangered Sites by World Monuments Fund.

self inspiration for the new year. I spent yesterday setting some goals and preparing myself to be a tad more organized in life.
2011 was a pretty rough year, in a lot of ways. so i'm focused on using the remaining hours of the year to set my mind on a positive path and ensure 2012 is a productive, healthy and happy year.

This is part of a project I'm working on for a local animal hospital. I'm taking portraits of the animals who live there and then the pictures will be hung on the walls. I wanted to create a timeless and slightly mysterious feel to each of them. This style unifies all of them into a common theme.
Odin is a Bernese Mountain and not a resident. I asked the owner if she would mind if I took a photo. She had no objection, of course.
Edited entirely on my iPad using Nik Software's Snapseed app.

I continue to be fascinated by the "art" employed at various commercial establishments intended to increase business. I have nothing against efforts to lure customers, and in fact am entertained by much of it, truth to be told. The establishment in the picture is a parking lot away from the nice beach, and sells pretty much every kind of touristy stuff you would expect, along with serving ice cream (despite the fact that there's quite a nice little ice cream joint just across the street), doing henna tattoos, and renting little beach buggies. For those interested, this image was processed with Photomatix from a single exposure RAW file. It is thus a "pseudo HDR."

All good things must come to an end….thanks again for your kind comments, critiques, and suggestions - you've been the best community.
I've found that taking the picture was only half the fun - the other half was interacting with all of you. I'm actually sad to see this project come to an end, yet don't think I have it in me to do another 365 in 2012 - I wouldn't be able to put the full dedication into it.Though, I am looking forward to a 52 week group, where I can spend more than just 5 minutes on a shot - I hope you can all return for that, and for those of you doing another 365 - wow, more power to ya!
Spoilers: well, all these shots including the building, jet - yes, all of them were pictures from the 365 project this year.

It's been an up and down year, one of the many up's being able to find my feet with photography and to find something that I absolutely love to do. Next year is looking like an enormous challenge for us so hopefully I will find a few hours here and there for shoots like this one to keep me level headed and sane.
This has sat in my archives for far too long, I'm hopeful that the next time I visit Saltwick will be in early summer with my Dad for another memorable evening like this one.
